CCHR Partnership Releases Economic Impact Studies

The Center for Civil and Human Rights (CCHR) Partnership released two studies detailing the planned Center’s economic feasibility and impact.

A financial feasibility study, conducted by Deloitte, details the potential results for the first 10 years of operation of the CCHR. With an estimated attendance of 800,000 in the first year, a conservative calculation projects that the Center will continue to attract over 650,000 visitors annually.

The success of the Georgia Aquarium and the recent opening of the new World of Coca-Cola have demonstrated the ability of the downtown Atlanta area to draw in tourists and to generate interest in the other local attractions.

Not only will the CCHR be a substantial tourist attraction, but it will also be a key revenue generator for the both the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia. Construction of the Center is projected to generate an estimated $216 million for Georgia – including 1,550 new jobs and $7 million in tax revenue. In addition, the report reveals that the operational impact for the Center should produce $1.1 billion for the state of Georgia – including 115 sustainable new jobs and $44 million in tax revenue

Summaries of both studies are available at www.cchrparternship.org.
